I woke this Thanksgiving morning to a great number of "Happy Thanksgiving" posts in Facebook, on Twitter, and in my email box.
Like most of you, I love this day for a variety of reasons: it marks the natural beginning of the holiday season, Christmas decorations and decorators put on a show, our homes are warmed by the presence of loved ones, it smells good...
Most important, of course, is that the day gives us a special opportunity to consider and express our gratitude for the blessings given us by our Creator.
Life.
Liberty.
The pursuit of happiness.
The very name of the day beckons us to give thanks, after all!
We have been blessed and it is wholly appropriate and pleasing to God that we offer our thanks.
That's not all, though. We have received and we are called on to share. The fourth Thursday of November comes and goes, but our need to give continues. Tomorrow is a new day...
Give Thanks, Then Give.
